Technology. Who need’s you? I have done fine without you!!

missyd, missy d,missy dee,tv,radio, indian blog, indian tv, indian entertainmentMy laptop is still on the blink. I don’t understand it as one minute I was happily doing some regular stuff on my Dell and the next minute I get a seriously dangerous disk corruption and overheating error message and then all of a sudden it’s dead. I mean just like that!!!

You have no idea how my heart was in my mouth and how my whole life flashed before my very eyes. I didn’t sleep all night, it was terrible. It’s odd isn’t it how such a small thing can affect you hugely. I mean I feel like I am in mourning. Like I have lost somebody or something. Don’t laugh!! So in the meantime get your reading head on and read instead of view!

I was just thinking it’s actually rather shameful and disgusting how we humans are so very heavily reliant on technology nowadays. Back in the day we survived with just blackboard and chalk, no mobile phones or apps. Were happy to play Pacman on our Acorn’s or ZX Spectrums if you were lucky enough to get one. We didn’t have skype or 3G technology. We didn’t have DS consoles or Wii’s.

In fact I can remember the day’s that I had to get off my arse to change the TV channel (again if you were lucky enough to have one) because we didn’t have no remote controls. The day we found out wired remotes were a new invention, we were very excited.

Yes I was not born in the early or late 80’s. But I’m also not a 60’s hippy chic either. Those who can relate to what I’m saying will probably know roundabouts when I was born!! But that’s not the question here. The question is why an earth do we now rely so heavily on technology, when we don’t really have to be. I think its just getting silly and half the time not needed. It’s a huge commercial consumerist exercise. I am living proof that I grew up and made it in this world without any technology whatsoever and I turned out ok!

70's kids, missyd, missy d,missy dee, indian bloger, blog, vlog,tv,dead laptopKids nowadays are constantly being knocked for not going out and having enough exercise, whilst on the other hand Mummy and Daddy buy them every electrical contraption they wail for. So do you blame them? If they weren’t made to feel that they needed to have one by the money making monsters out there, then they wouldn’t want one. Instead they’d be playing knock down ginger and riding their chopper, like I did when I were a young lass.

I can’t say that I am not reliant on technology and can’t live without it now. But all I’m saying is why could we not live life like we did before. It was basic, it wasn’t flash. But those days were seriously the best days of my life. Nowadays its all money making madness and 100% reliability on technology. Yeh it’s great that we have learnt great things. But just a simple thing like the death of a laptop has grinded me to a halt, which is pathetic if you ask me!

I did record the first radio tutorial and hopefully (inshallah) will get it to you tomorrow. In the meantime I’m going to wallow in self-pity and find the courage to part with over a thousand pounds to buy an Apple Mac so I can continue to provide you with Missy D TV.

It depends on how comfortable one is with technology around them and used daily. Human mind is designed to explore, make things better, smaller (other than TV’s) and faster. The hunger of humans never ends.

Technology is the be all and the end for some people, its part of their lives and they wouldn’t have it any other way.

Don’t get me wrong Brit Blogger I love technology and am a gadget freak. I love the concept of it and love anything new on the market. It excites me no end.

BUT my point is that isnt it crazy just HOW reliant we are on technology. My point was I did perfectly fine without it and although paperwork was tedious and involved alot of storage at least it couldn’t be destroyed in a flick of a second unless there was a fire!!! Yes technology helps but it is an addiction that sometimes is uneccessary. Less time is spent human company due to time being spent on technology.

I understand your point(s) and I totally agree with your very last sentence. It appears that the more we use technology the further apart we become from one another. It’ll come to a point where soon enough we all will be so isolated that we will begin to live in a virtual world.
